Certifications
With our products, we address the growing awareness of sustainability and circular business practices. By using sustainable packaging and disposables, you differentiate yourself in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and contribute to reducing plastic usage. Our products are certified for various standards, including compostability. On the product page in our webshop, you can see which certifications a specific product has. Below is an explanation of our most important certifications.
Certified for Food Contact
In collaboration with various independent research and certification institutes, including SGS, our products are tested and proven to be safe for contact with food. Our products comply with the current European regulations, Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 of 14-01-2011 and Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 of 27-10-2004.
Industrial Compostability Certified According to EN13432
The term "compostable" indicates that a product can be industrially processed into compost within a set period of 12 weeks. This applies to all components, inks, and any additives. The EN13432 designation refers to the European standard for industrial compostability, recognizable by the seedling logo or the OK Compost label. Various recognized certification bodies, such as TÃœV and DIN CERTCO, carry out the certification procedure and test whether a product meets the following requirements:
- Disintegration: The physical breakdown of the product into very small fragments. After 12 weeks, at least 90% of the product must pass through a 2x2mm sieve.
- Biodegradation: Chemical breakdown of the material into CO2, water, and minerals. The material must biodegrade at least 90% within 6 months, according to the standard.
- Quality of final compost and ecotoxicity: The compost quality should not decrease due to the added product.
- Chemical composition: The standard sets limits for volatile compounds, heavy metals, and fluoride.
- Home Compostability
- The OK Compost Home certificate guarantees complete biodegradability in your garden compost heap. However, keep in mind that home composting is a slower process due to lower and less consistent temperatures compared to an industrial composting environment.
FSC® Certification
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) is an international organization committed to the preservation and responsible management of forests worldwide. FSC defines responsible forest management as taking ecological, social, and economic factors into account in a balanced way. FSC's transparent system is supported by all major environmental and development organizations, making FSC unique. The more demand there is for FSC-certified products, the more forest areas will be managed according to FSC guidelines, benefiting the people and animals that depend on the forest. Natureko is FSC-certified and is therefore authorized to sell FSC-certified products with an FSC claim. Look for our FSC®-certified products.

Nordic Ecolabel
The Nordic Ecolabel promotes sustainable solutions based on a life cycle approach. With our efforts to make sustainable products, there is a risk of solving a problem in one area while creating another environmental issue elsewhere. The entire life cycle of the product, from raw material to production, use, processing, and recycling, is considered when setting the requirements for a certified product. This ensures that the overall impact on the environment and climate is reduced. In addition to environmental requirements, it is also important that the quality and durability of the product are guaranteed.
EU Ecolabel
The EU Ecolabel is the European environmental label for non-food products and services, aimed at promoting more sustainable production and consumption. The label is recognized by all EU countries as well as Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland. Products and services with the EU Ecolabel are produced with a lower environmental impact in terms of:
- Raw materials
- Energy
- Water
- Harmful substances
- Waste
- Packaging
