CPLA tableware is made from plants such as sugar cane, sugar beet, corn and cassava root. Lactic acid molecules are formed through the fermentation of raw sugars from these plants. After polymerization of the lactic acid molecules, PLA is formed. PLA is produced during the During production, the material crystallizes and CPLA is formed. CPLA is a natural alternative to plastic and is certified for industrial compostability according to the European standard EN13432.
